A tradition started in my grandmother’s kitchen, Wehrman Farms Peanut Brittle has become a staple in countless households in the area. When she was alive, my grandmother would make countless small batches, gifting and selling it to friends and family. My uncle even peddled it to his co-workers. Rumor has it, she even sold it at the Minster Farmer’s Co-op Exchange in the late 80s. Known for being less “sticky” than traditional peanut brittle, it has been enjoyed by everyone, even those with dentures!
When my grandmother passed away in 2009, I began making this delicious peanut brittle, sharing it with a new generation of friends and family. In the years since, it has developed a new and growing following, making it a tradition for many families.
In 2023, I introduced it to the Celina Farmer’s Market, further growing its reach, and in 2024, it is carried in the new Minster Market.
The Wehrman Farms Peanut Brittle is a 3+ generation recipe whose origin is unknown. It is cooked, stirred, poured, broken up, and packaged by hand in the original 2 lb batch.
